Sea of Shoes

I've been a blog lurker for a while now and a fashion junkie for even longer. Can I just say that I want to live this girl's life?

Seriously, I want to live in her closet. Her fashion sense is eclectic and quirky and just plain awesome. I'm such a fan.

And it helps that she's gorgeous too.

Her blog: Sea of shoes

Carolina Herrera + Vera Wang, work clothes

Let's take a drool break from my vacation posts. I can't let New York Fashion Week go by without a post on my favorite looks!

Carolina Herrera

Isn't it gorgeous? I'd wear this to work, I really would! I love how the pleats make such a classic look so now. The red (rust?) belt and the hat was perfect accessorizing. I'm so partial to gray nowadays but now I'll be on the lookout for the perfect contrasting belt. Nuninuninuninoo.

Vera Wang

On the other hand, while Vera Wang seems to have garnered much praise for the way she incorporated the unexpected in her "business" looks, I really don't see myself wearing this to work.

I actually like the look. But it would never work in this country, at least not for any lawyer in the courtroom haha.

Aaah, and this one...

I think the judge would throw me out of the courtroom, don't you?

Coron, Palawan III

Banol Beach was one of my favorite stops. This was where we could just sit, swim, eat and drink to our heart's content.

We stopped here for lunch where our guides grilled fresh fish and laid out the meals that the hotel chef had prepared for us.

O, diba? Can you say zosyal?
Me to my boyfriend: Picturan mo, dali! Ngayon lang ako nakakita
ng ganyang table setting sa beach!

I loved our guides, they anticipated our every desire.
"Beer pa po Ma'am, Sir?"
"More ice?"

As soon as we got out of the water, they'd get out our sunglasses from where they were kept and hand them over. The sunblock soon followed for our regular reapplications. AYLAVEET!!

I felt so lazy. Everytime I wanted something, one of them would rush to get it and hand it over.
Pramis, it was so... mayaman. Haha.

The beach itself was gorgeous. The sand was so fine and the beach not at all rocky.

This is me with the wakeup drink that our guide gave me after my nap. I looooved our guides, I wanted to take them home!

And then I changed and made my boyfriend take photos of me in my pretty, pretty dress.

Because what holiday is complete without the perfect holiday photo?
Again, photos by my beloved cajut.

Coron, Palawan II

Our first stop, after resting a bit was the Maquinit Hot Springs.

Not a very pretty place but incredibly relaxing. Within a few minutes of sliding into the hot water, my muscles turned to jelly and I was so groggy I was barely coherent. This after I had just slept for a couple of hours following our arrival.  It's the perfect spa experience. All you have to do is sit still and let the water do the work.

The next day, we went to Kayangan Lake. So off we went with our guides and trusty boatmen to the island where we climbed up...and up...and up...and then down again to get to the lake. This is where I discovered just how very out of shape I am, haha.

This is me with our guides on the boat.

The sight that greets you from the boat on the way to Kayangan. Unreal, isn't it?

See? I wasn't kidding about the up and up and up part.

But it's worth the climb, as you can see.

And this is Kayangan Lake, where fresh and saltwater meet.

I loved that I could swim without feeling any sting in my eyes. The water was clear and beautiful and just right.

All photos by my beloved, cajut. Some photos are slightly distorted because of the size, but you can view them in his flickr account.

Coron, Palawan I

For the Valentine weekend, my boyfriend took me to Coron. 4 days of bliss.

He got us a package at the Coron Gateway Hotel for only P11,100 per person that included absolutely EVERYTHING. The hotel stay, the chartered boat for island hopping, the guides/manservants (seriously! haha) and ALL, read that, ALL meals.

When we arrived at the hotel, it looked fairly small and nondescript. They had just opened last year and construction was still going on right in front of the hotel for the baywalk (the hotel is right in front of the water!!!), so I wasn't expecting much from the rooms just that the bathroom be pristine and the sheets very white.

We were greeted with welcome drinks.

When I saw this, I jumped up and down and squealed.

The room was huge and the sliding doors to the right opened up to a balcony overlooking the sea.

And the bathroom, my gawd I looooved the bathroom. Like I've said before, I'm a freak for bathrooms and this bathroom was a FREAK.  It was biiiig.

You can't really tell from the photo but the tub was HUGE and to die for. The sliding doors to the left of the tub meant you could soak your limbs after a long day of island hopping and snorkeling, while watching a movie on the excellent flatscreen that you can angle towards you from the front of the room.

We had just gotten there and already, our Coron Valentine was getting off to a nice start.

Christian Louboutin...I love

I know everyone goes on and on about Manolo Blahniks and Jimmy Choos. But while Manolos and JimmyChoos are beautiful, I reserve my love for Christian Louboutin. Ever since I first caught sight of this

That was it for me.
In the ultra-conservative world of law, being fashionable means marrying the classic and the elegant, with enough oomph to make a statement but not so much as to make it loud.

This shoe is perfect for me. My friend April has the red ones and at the time, only her and Gretchen had them in the entire country.
But say hello to THESE babies.

The Tahiti from the 2010 Spring/Summer Collection.
I'm in love, I really am. This is my new favorite shoe of all time. Yes, OF ALL TIME!

The Tahiti, it has been said, appeals to the tasteful, sophisticated woman. (Ooooh, that's me, ME!!! Haha)

"Tahiti is literally fit for a princess. First worn by the Princess of Monaco before Christian Louboutin became famous, the pair in this collection is a tribute to her. A big black flower at the ankle and contrasting black trim add interest to this otherwise understated white pump."

I could just die for a pair of these.

I'm back!

I had the best Valentine ever and Coron was beautiful. Breathtaking. My boyfriend took loads and loads of pictures and I'll be posting them soon when I blog about our trip but in the meantime, I just want to sit still and savor this amazing, wonderful, tingly feeling.

Right now, right this moment, all I want to do is feel.

I have the most amazing life. A wonderful family, the best friends, a brilliant future and a great love.

Thank you, thank you Lord.

Davao's Worst-kept Secret Beach

... that's what my boyfriend named Chema's.

A beautiful privately owned resort on an island in Davao, it's become well-known through word-of-mouth alone. The owner refuses to advertise and uses his 'taray' to filter his guests. Haha. I couldn't stop laughing when he explained about his famed suplado ways and how he deliberately adopted the attitude to keep the place what it is --- a sanctuary.

Loved the public bathroom. Which says a lot, because I'm very finicky when it comes to bathrooms so I usually end up hating public bathrooms, but this one, I LOVED.

The infinity pool. It has umbrellas and tables surrounding it and some on a balcony adjoining the deck, with steps leading down to the beach. I love how it's just the slightest bit secluded from the rest of the resort without being completely hidden. It's like having your own private pool party.

Of course the boyfriend took photos left and right.

For those wondering, the beach coverup is by Soak Swimwear.

My two favorite photos of the bunch. My boyfriend's a romantic and it shows in the photos he takes.

I'm the best!

And because I'm such an amazing girlfriend (or at least, in training to be one :p), I bought the bestest boyfriend in the world a super advance birthday present, that doubles as a valentine present (because I'm kuripot that way).

Ta daaaaa!

Limited Edition Andy Warhol shoes, one of only 960 all over the world.

Notice the control number. Don't you just love it?

Call me low EQ girl, but as soon as I got them, I couldn't wait till Valentine's or his birthday to give them to him. But low EQ or not, the look on his face was worth it.

I love this man. And after this, I'm betting that he soooo loves me. *wink*

The view from my window

My boyfriend takes beautiful photos.

A few nights ago, he sat on a stool by my window and waited for the sun to set.

This was the result.

And this:

I couldn't quite believe that this is the view from my living room window.

Almost makes up for being ignored while he set up his shots. Almost. Haha.
